The Lecture Series 2012 – 2013

In association with Anatomy Trains, Kineses*

16 PMA CEC points are awarded per week-end attended

A series of 5 demonstrated lecture weekends on the full Studio Pilates repertoire and the ‘fascially conscious’ vocabulary found within the work which directly  interconnects us to the  neuromyofascia.

Fascia is being coined ‘the organ of stability’, ‘the missing link to movement’(Myers) It is found to be the 3rd communication system of the body and now known to have 10 x more nerve endings than our muscles (Robert Schleip). It intercommunicates mechanical information at 720 mph versus 150 mph for the nervous system (James Earl).

This newly found ingredient has vast revolutionary implications to our daily functionality, resilience, performance, health, daily life and  longevity.

The Lecture Series demonstrates how we can work with, influence, re-store , re-negotiate, re-order and therefore re- ease the fascial organism within the Pilates Studio .

This means to a neuromuscular inter-connection to the fascial organism was found in the origins and ‘design’ of the original Pilates Method Studio intent.

This ‘fascially conscious’ vocabulary brings light and reality to ‘whole body’ for ‘whole health’, and to the ‘uniformly developed body’,  the guiding principle of Pilates.

With this new fascial insight , this applied and sense felt application and vocabulary directly communicates  to the fascial fibres. Enabling us to negotiate the connecting pathways and restore the tissues elasticity (the give and take) and thereby develop the’ tensional integrity’ (appropriately required tension) requisite for a superior functionality and performance.

This stunning  ‘working relationship’ between the two offers us heightened insight to an ever greater potential  of our work.

Series Overview

The Pilates Method Lecture Series consists of 75 hours of demonstrated lectures, divided over five weekends.  The lectures will organise the full Pilates Method into 3 levels of technical detail. Demonstrating the original repertoire through this inner ‘fascial conscious’ vocabulary, giving the original Pilates repertoire an expansive new prospective.

Participants will learn to read and organise the anatomy trains map through the Pilates repertorie to renegotiate the strain patterns that cause our symptoms.
