 Aches and pains usually come after long periods of 'strain'. Where there is a strain pattern in the body (or mind),  from daily postural living habits or repetitive daily professional or sporting actions, the body will compensate to accomodate the job. However, eventually the 'strain' can get too much, often it is one push too many, one more stressful situation, an increased effort, exhaustion or just one day too many sitting in a compressed state at your desk, and the body finally cries out for our attention. It is no different from the tree in the wood that has been leaning over for years but, when one day the winds are that much stronger, it is the tree that will come down in the storm...

Relieving strain patterns can be alot easier than you think; it can be the 'take your foot off the ant' situation, where it is only you that is 'bearing down ' and compressing, creating the very discomfort that you are trying to relieve. When only a few 'players' are playing to support the bodys moving architecture, there  is a lot of strain put onto only a few of the ‘team' members with the rest  sitting out watching on the bench. In the Tensegrity body nobody gets to sit on the bench! with all 'players' holding to their ‘tensional’ role and playing their part in any given movement, that movement is easy, its energy efficient, smooth and effortless, nobody gets too tired, nobody gets strained and nobody gets hurt.
