She has achieved her Pilates education studying individually with the first generation 'Pilates Elders' and many of the Pilates industry leaders across the USA, she continues to work closely with them.

Karin is dedicated to the original, now somewhat historical, teachings of Joseph and Clara Pilates and the profound  intentions behind their Method -

'The Method works, it is a true wisdom with unwavering results, working in harmony with the  natural laws of  movement and our innate wellbeing.  It is a multi -level, multi- dimensional study of the true co-ordination and integration of the body with the mind, with spirit. Connecting you to your strength, from strength to balance and from balance to find grace. It offers the profound potential for 'whole body health'. Karin Locher

A teacher for 11 years, she is the owner of Contrology Pilates Method, incorporating the Contrology Studio, The Study Programme and Contrology and Anatomy Trains. The Study programme is a continuing Study for teachers and Pilates enthusiasts to learn the original work, the legacy that is the work, the fundamentals, genius and original intent of the Pilates Method. Through Contrology she  has pioneered  and developed a neuromuscular internal connection to Tom Myers Anatomy Trains. Working with the stunning relationship between Joe’s original instruction of his Method and the Myofascia 'Map', Contrology and Anatomy Trains offers the first integrated training and ongoing workshops for an integral approach and new awareness of 'whole' body healthmore

Karin dedicates her time to all those looking to experience, learn and live the great wisdom and genius of the multi-dimensional human existence.

PHIL BENNETT

Phil Bennett - Following a major stroke in early 2006, I was left with little mobility and strength in my left side. I had read about Contrology and, despite negative comments from my physiotherapists, came here to Sarratt. I found working with Joseph Pilates’ Classical Matwork in a determined and focused way gave  me true connection of mind, body and spirit.

It has changed my life and played a vital part in me making a full recovery. This inspired me to learn to teach others the benefits given to me. I qualified in Classical Matwork and have been teaching here at Sarratt for 2 years.

At the beginning of 2009 I became the first and only licensed Ron Fletchers Towelwork teacher in the UK.  Towelwork is an exercise in full body movement and integration.  It is difficult, challenging and effective.

Towelwork is performed standing up. It helps strengthen and stabilize the shoulder girdle and helps in restoring posture in the thoracic spine area. It is only available here at Sarratt. Contrology has changed my body, mind and life - it can change yours too!

TACYE LYNETTE

Tacye has been involved in Pilates for over ten years. It has become a life work to her. Following a spinal injury, she was told that, without having regularly practiced Pilates, she probably wouldn't be walking! This inspired her to seek training and realise a burgeoning desire to pass on this life saving tool that is easily available and attainable for everyone.

Since discovering Pilates she has been empowered to develop her abilities in strength, flexibility, balance, concentration and creativity.  Her mindfulness allows her to continually achieve more and pass on her passion and awareness to her students.

Tacye is a certified Stott Pilates Instructor, qualified to teach Essential, Intermediate and Advanced Mat work. She has further trained in both classic Studio equipment and classic Matwork, following the original exercises at the CONTROLOGY Studio, Sarratt.

She regularly continues updating her education in all aspects of the work.

Tacye is also a member of the Guild of Pregnancy and Postnatal Instructors.

Her unique approach to life gives her the ability to stimulate the most positive qualities in all those around her.  Professionally, her extensive training, experience and in depth knowledge allow her to respond to individuals both within a class and working privately one to one.

ANGIE SHERIDAN

Before discovering the wonderful life changing world of Pilates, I worked in mainstream fitness for many years, never entirely happy with a formulaic, soul-less style of teaching that insists that "one size fits all".  Everything changed for me when I was ‘introduced’ to Joe Pilates and discovered there was a different, more thoughtful way of discovering how our wonderful bodies move.

I originally qualified with the Pilates Institute going on to attend a Pathway to Pilates course with Body Control Pilates and finally, very happily qualifying with Contrology Pilate Method to teach classical matwork, which I love.

Up to date my teaching career spans nearly 30 years and during that time I have worked with people of all shapes, sizes, ages and issues.  I have always believed that the role of a good teacher is to enable, empower and educate so that people can feel well, independent and possibly discover their true potential.

I am very excited to have been asked to join the wonderful team at the Contrology Studio, and can’t wait to begin teaching
